3rd Grading
Wise men learn by other men's mistakes, fools by their own.
Wise men don't need advice. Fools won't take it.
Many complain of their looks, but none of their brains.
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.
Personal assessment of Sunday’s grading:
Pattern not bad, but I think I bummed out on the kicking sets.
Getting ahead of myself here… let’s rewind and start from the break of dawn.
I had that surreal sensation from the night before all the way till I got myself to the CC. Don’t ask me why, I always get that feeling/ thing before I go through some important situation. Haha~
Taking a page form my previous experience of being too early to the CC I though I might as well go a bit later to meet my people from the club and the society. The thing is that I was later than other people and in the end had a hard time finding a good place to put our bags.
Reminder to self: be earlier to choop seats.
I was the earliest of all my friends to the CC and as such, Mr. Chow put me in-charge of all the grading cards belonging to the people from the Paya Lebar Kovan CC and S.I.M.
For lack of a better phrase, you could say that I was stressed out of my head.
Grading cards are a very big deal to us who take our grading. It determines how long we have to wait till we get our black belts. Once lost, it means that the person would have to start from square one, aka white belt. That would be a huge headache to cure.
The high stressed level lasted way pass my own grading. I guess that was one of the reasons why I bungled up. Have to focus more the next time round.
Brought the camera to the grading. I was not the only one to bring camera.
Muah hahahaha….
Took a lot of photos and they all up on the site. Go take a look if you have the time. ^-^ Just have to wait for Gen and Baolin and Jill to send me theirs. Haha~
I also filmed Yong Jet and Jill sparring. Woohooo~
Jet’s sparring is very xiong one, I wouldn’t want to go up against him anytime. Getting K.O. would be a shoo in for me. Jill sparred against Eileen, nothing much to comment here coz Eileen herself is a rather rigid fighter. I don mean to be mean, but if you want to know how her sparring is like, just imagine a bamboo pole bouncing around.
Thank God that it did not rain during the whole grading session. It would have been horrendous. Kids running all over the place, their parents trying to look for shelter. We would probably not have had any place to sit. As it is, even with the lower number of people turning up for grading, there was still a rather big crowd. The exodus was still round the area. Heh~
The meeting which took place after grading was the fastest one I have ever had. First time that Desmond decided not to go for his regular service and join us for the meeting. He even offered to take the minutes of the meeting. Thank God he did. He is very good at doing the minutes, got a lot of experience doing that kind of stuff, from his poly days. I, on the other hand, totally suck at taking minutes. THANKS DESMOND!
Finished the meeting and trooped over to BK to eat lunch. There in was the congregation of the SIM TKD Club and the ‘Uncle-Auntie’ Society of PLK CC. As Chi Fong put it, the gathering was more like a wu ling da hui. Haha~ We talked about the grading itself and what everyone was doing. The usual ‘getting to know you’ routine. ^-^
We went our separate ways at about 1.30pm and I made for home to pack my stuff, upload the pictures onto the computer and then make for the CC again. This time round, it was to meet JY to study. I also brought my badminton gear along coz of my games at the same venue at 5pm.
While we were studying, the skies opened up and the cats and dogs came slamming down.
Badminton was not bad. The only peeves I had came in the form of Farah and Evangeline. I think there is something wrong with me, but I some how found them REALLY irritating and I was on the verge of scolding Farah for being a total pain in the neck. Maybe I was just too tired and my nerves were too frazzled. Oh well, we shall have to see how I feel next Sunday when I see them again. *sigh*
By the time I got myself home, the bed seemed very inviting, but I did not get to my pillows till 1am because I was trying to get my photos online. Haha… the sleep I had last night was not all that good either because I got bitten by mosquitoes all over. Grrr….WOE TO ALL MOSQUITOES!!!!!!!
I love rain, but I don’t like the mosquitoes and flies that come out after the rain. Woe to them all!
Oh, time to hit the books!
Later still got the private grading at SIM… woohoo~
Study hard you all!
